Maintenance office hours are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday. To report a maintenance problem, please call reception at 613-748-6606 extension 302. Give as much detail as possible so we will be able to determine which course of action to take to solve the problem and know which tools will be needed.
If you will not be home when we are ready to do the repair(s), you may wish to give us permission to enter your unit. If you do not give us permission to enter your unit we will leave a 24-hour notice to enter in your mailbox with a 4-hour window. If it is a water leak or life safety issue we will enter with or without your permission
Once the maintenance work order is received, we will establish a priority for the repair(s) to be done. For example, a blocked toilet has a higher priority than a ripped screen.
In case of an emergency before 9:00 am or after 4:00 pm, or on weekends and holidays (when the office is closed), contact the emergency service number (613) 755-0107. When you contact the emergency service, please leave your name, address, phone number and an explanation of what the problem is. If you do not get a call back after 15 minutes, call again. The emergency service number is only to be used in case of an emergency, as defined below:
Emergency Repairs are:
- Any condition which presents a clear and imminent danger to life and limb (e.g. loss of power).
- Any condition which deprives a tenant of an essential service or the security of the premises (e.g. no heat).
- Any condition which, if ignored will lead to immediate damage to a tenant’s possessions or Gloucester Housing Corporation property (e.g. flood).
- An unusable toilet (if you have only one toilet in the house).
There will be a charge for unnecessary use of the emergency service number.
The maintenance of your unit and the community in which you live is a responsibility shared by the Landlord and the Tenant. Please report all maintenance problems to the office as soon as possible, (613) 748-6606, ext. 302.
